Gronk is back with with his good buddy Tom Brady, just not with the New England Patriots anymore after a stunning move that happened Tuesday afternoon.
The Patriots traded tight end Rob Gronkowski and a seventh-round pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a fourth-round pick, per a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Gronk, of course, sat out last year after retiring from football following the Patriots’ Super Bowl win against the Rams. He and Brady are now reunited in Tampa, which is kind of nuts considering all the things they accomplished together with in New England.
Here is Schefter’s report on the deal:
Trade, pending physical: Patriots are trading TE Rob Gronkowski and a seventh-round pick to the Buccaneers for a fourth-round pick, source tells ESPN.

Jay Glazer reports the physical has been done and the deal is good to go:
Gronk has now passed his physical. Trade is for him and 7th for Bucs fourth-round selection.

A decade from now, I hope Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski do a televised special where they explain exactly what happened in New England these last two years.

Since Gronk has spent part of his year in retirement promoting a cannabis company, it probably also bears mentioning that under the new NFL-NFLPA substance abuse policy, players can no longer be suspended for positive drug tests.

I mean it's hard to be mad at Gronk considering the Patriots tried to trade him to the Lions a couple years ago. He owes no loyalty to this team https://t.co/dpPolgAvjd
