NFL world applauds Bengals capping off o-line rebuild with La’el Collins

Everyone took notice when the Bengals landed La’el Collins in free agency.

It was a stunning and confusing pursuit, but the Cincinnati Bengals locked down free-agent offensive tackle La’el Collins on a three-year deal over the weekend.

Confusing, because Collins effectively stayed in town three days, if not more. A report said he left the visit without a deal, only for fans to spot him at a local mall and around town. And Sunday afternoon, word leaked on the new deal.

More importantly, the move earned unanimous praise from onlookers even outside of the Bengals fanbase. Collins was the third massive upgrade to Joe Burrow’s line signed less than a week into free agency. Going into the open market, the team needed to upgrade four spots.
