The 2021 NFL draft is rapidly approaching and the logistics of the event, scheduled in Cleveland for April 29-May 1, are coming together. On Friday, the NFL let all 32 teams know they will be able to congregate in their facilities to have a “draft room”, per the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Teams will be required to submit plans to comply with local and national COVID-19 protocols and restrictions to have their draft rooms. Last year’s event was held with social isolation and remote connections, with team facilities closed due to the pandemic. There will be cameras allowed, and teams will not be forced to assemble if they choose not to.
It’s a promising sign that the draft event will indeed take place live and in person in Cleveland.
