NFL Wild Card Weekend: Prop bets, DFS bargains, and brief Derek Carr appreciation

Let’s find some value in the six-game playoff-opening slate.

After more than four months, the NFL has separated the worthy from the unwashed. The 2022 Playoffs are upon us.

14 teams remain in the running for a spot in Super Bowl 56. Those range from familiar favorites like the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers to longshot bets like the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles. Super Wild Card Weekend (the NFL’s title, not mine) may be the start of two teams’ paths to a championship game in Los Angeles. It will definitely be the thing that slightly messes up next spring’s draft position for at least four others.

To celebrate, the league has expanded its Wild Card coverage to three days, adding its first-ever Monday Night Football postseason game. That showdown between the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams should help make up for a Sunday Night Football rematch between the Chiefs and Steelers, about which not even Ben Roethlisberger is optimistic.

That’ll throw some wonky daily fantasy slates in our path and create some interesting opportunities to lay some bets. Let’s talk about it. All odds via Tipico.
