NFL Week 14 bold prediction: Brian Flores will make Patrick Mahomes look human

The Dolphins may have to stray from their bread and butter.

The Miami Dolphins and coach Brian Flores have the rare challenge of preparing for quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Though this is Flores’ first game against the Chiefs as the Dolphins head coach, he called defensive plays for the Patriots when they beat Mahomes twice in the 2018 season, once in the regular season and once in the AFC Championship Game.

As inhuman as Mahomes seems, Flores seems to be able to slow down the Chiefs quarterback as well as anyone. And this Dolphins defense is equipped to put a hurt on Mahomes, even if they have to break away from what they do best. Miami is one of most aggressive blitzing teams in the NFL, but Mahomes has an outstanding quarterback rating against the blitz. So Miami’s success will likely rely upon their ability to break their heavy-blitzing tendencies.

Mahomes may come out with a win on Sunday — but he’s also likely to look unimpressive against Miami’s defense.
