NFL Week 1: Initial injury report for Colts vs. Seahawks

Taking a look at Wednesday’s injury report for the Colts.

The Indianapolis Colts released the first injury report of the week on Wednesday as they prepare to host the Seattle Seahawks for the regular-season opener at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Since we are now entering Week 1, the Colts are required to submit an injury report to the league. There was some encouraging news with quarterback Carson Wentz, who was a full participant on Wednesday and is expected to play in the opener against the Seahawks.

Here’s a look at the initial injury report following Wednesday’s practice:

*DNP = Did Not Participate — LP = Limited Participant — FP = Full Participant*

Player Injury Wed. (9/8) Thur. (9/9) Fri. (9/10) Status
G Quenton Nelson Foot/Back DNP
CB Xavier Rhodes Calf DNP
WR Parris Campbell Achilles LP
T Eric Fisher Achilles LP
G Danny Pinter Foot LP
DE Kemoko Turay Groin LP
QB Carson Wentz Foot FP

There is still hope that Nelson suits up on Sunday but his status and the status of Rhodes are certainly ones to monitor as the week progresses.

A surprising addition to the injury report on Wednesday was that of Campbell, who popped up with an Achilles injury. Stephen Holder of The Athletic reported it is “lingering soreness” but it will certainly still be something to keep an eye on.

With T.Y. Hilton on the injured reserve list, Campbell stands to see a solid target share so it will be interesting to see if this will be an issue throughout the week.
