NFL Twitter reacts to Brock Purdy’s perfect 158.3 passer rating vs. Bucs

Here’s what fans and analysts were saying on Twitter after Brock Purdy posted a perfect passer rating in the 49ers’ win over the Bucs.

Brock Purdy was perfect in the San Francisco 49ers’ 27-13 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Not nearly perfect — perfect, well according to pass rating.

On the way to throwing three touchdown passes, the 49ers’ passer posted a 158.3 pass rating — the highest number for the metric.

Purdy became the second quarterback in 49ers franchise history to record a perfect passer rating with a minimum of 15 attempts in a game. During his MVP campaign in 1989, Joe Montana also posted a perfect passer rating of 158.3 in a game. Purdy, Montana and Steve Young are the only quarterbacks in franchise history to post a perfect rating. However, Young only attempted 12 passes and Montana only attempted 19.

On Sunday against the Bills, Purdy threw for 333 yards on 21-of-22 passing to along with three touchdown passes.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is the only other quarterback to notch a perfect passer rating this season. Allen shredded the Miami Dolphins in Week 4 on his way to a 158.3 rating. Allen and Purdy are the first quarterbacks to post a perfect pass rating since Tom Brady in the 2020 season.

Following Purdy’s perfect day in Santa Clara, the NFL community on Twitter chimed in with a flurry of reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on on Sunday afternoon.
