According to multiple reports including NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the NFL is working on a new media contract that would allow the league to not only expand the regular season to 17 games but also offer some relief on the salary camp drop coming next season as well.
The move to add a regular-season game has been hotly contested but players because there will be debate as to how it will impact player salaries. But from a Pittsburgh Steelers point of view, anything to help give a little salary cap relief next season is welcome. The Steelers have a huge list of pending free agents and very little money to sign any of them.
