5: Vikings vanquish Saints; Seahawks roll

Dallas fired coach Jason Garrett, one week after the end of the Cowboys’ disappointing 2019 season. Garrett’s contract was set to expire on Jan. 14. Garrett spent 10 years as Cowboys head coach, leading Dallas to a 85-67 regular-season record, three division titles, two playoff wins and just one losing season. …Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins’ 43-yard pass to Adam Thielen set up an NFC Wild-Card upset. Three plays later, Cousins threw the game-winning touchdown to Kyle Rudolph, which gave the Vikings a 26-20 victory over the New Orleans Saints. …  Jadeveon Clowney knocked out Carson Wentz. Then, Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks knocked off the Philadelphia Eagles.Wilson threw a 53-yard touchdown pass to DK Metcalf, Marshawn Lynch had a rushing score and the Seahawks beat the Eagles, 17-9.
