NFL Thanksgiving Day betting locks: 3 predictions for Thursday

Our three NFL betting picks for Thanksgiving Day.

Thursday is Thanksgiving Day, and while the NFL schedule is smaller than anticipated after the postponement to the Ravens-Steelers game, we still have traditional Lions and Cowboys games on the slate. Here are our three betting locks of the day for Texans vs. Lions and Washington vs. Dallas.

Charles Curtis: Texans-Lions over 51.5 points

I will watch the Lions and the Texans on turkey day even though they’re both terrible. Why? Because they’re going to beat the stuffing out of each other and put up tons of points.

Steven Ruiz: Texans -2.5 vs. Lions

I’m picking the Texans for three reasons:

  1. Deshaun Watson is playing the best football out of any quarterback in the league right now.
  2. The Lions have an atrocious defense and are coming off a 21-0 loss to the Panthers.
  3. They’re the Lions, so they’re probably going to lose anyway.

Nick Schwartz: Ezekiel Elliott (DAL) over 16.5 carries

Zeke’s targets in the passing game have gone down over the last few weeks, but the Cowboys have been feeding him regularly in the run game. He’s had 18 or more carries over the last three weeks, and in a game where I don’t expect the Cowboys to be playing from behind, I think we’re going to see another heavy workload against Washington.
