The first thing NFL fans wanted to know when they saw news of the giant crypto crash — with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies taking a dive on Wednesday — was whether free-agent tackle Russell Okung was OK.
Okung — who last played with the Carolina Panthers in 2020 — became the first player (but not the last!) to to be paid in Bitcoin. So you can imagine he might be freaking out like other investors upon seeing Bitcoin’s price take a nosedive.
But nope! He’s just fine. In fact, as he said on Twitter Wednesday morning, he’s buying even more at a lower price. That’s pretty amazing:
Haha. I bought more.

Y’all don’t get it.
I am not selling my #Bitcoin, ever.

They laugh now but will cry later.

Back on May 16, he said he was “buying the dip.”
I’m investing more into my future self.
Bought the dip.

So yeah. If you’re wondering? Russell Okung is doing just fine.
