NFL suspends Texans player after hit on Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase

Ja’Marr Chase took a nasty hit on Sunday that ended up with a Texans player suspended.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase was on the receiving end of a vicious helmet shot during last weekend’s loss to the Houston Texans.

That hit has now resulted in a sizeable suspension.

Per the NFL, Texans linebacker Denzel Perryman has now been suspended for three games in the aftermath of the hit, citing repeated violations of health and safety rules. The hit on Chase was his seventh use of helmet foul.

Chase popped up from the hit and continued to play, but wasn’t too happy about it in the locker room during postgame interviews.

That the NFL ruled this quickly (fine information from the prior week usually goes public the next Saturday) says a lot about the hit and seriousness of Perryman’s repeated violations.
