NFL snubs Rams CB Darious Williams from 2021 Pro Bowl ballot

Fans can still vote for Jalen Ramsey and Troy Hill at cornerback, though.

Only two players in the NFL have more interceptions than Rams cornerback Darious Williams this season: J.C. Jackson and Xavien Howard. Williams has picked off four passes in nine games, emerging as an unsung hero in the Rams secondary.

Yet, despite his stellar play up to this point, he’s not even on the ballot for the 2021 NFL Pro Bowl. You can vote for Troy Hill and Jalen Ramsey, but not Williams, for some reason. In total, 72 cornerbacks are on the ballot.

Williams really made a name for himself on Sunday against the Seahawks, picking off Russell Wilson twice and breaking up a few other passes. He helped shut down Seattle’s high-flying offense, helping hold Tyler Lockett to only five catches for 66 yards; DK Metcalf also only had two catches for 28 yards.

Perhaps the NFL put together the ballot before Week 10, and so Williams’ two most recent interceptions weren’t accounted for. He still has time to earn a spot in the Pro Bowl if he continues to play the way he has, especially with Ramsey campaigning for him to make the Pro Bowl.

“I think it’s time to start taking about D-Will in this league as a household name – as a guy who could potentially be an All-Pro and a guy who should be a Pro Bowler,” Ramsey said Sunday.

On the year, Williams has four interceptions, 10 passes defensed, 21 tackles and one tackle for loss. He’s one of just four players with at least four interceptions and 10 passes defensed.
