The NFL has released a series of updated personnel protocols for players, coaches, staffers and media regarding the COVID-19 vaccination. A sweeping memo, released on Wednesday, details the differentiation between what vaccinated and unvaccinated personnel are permitted to do across the NFL.
The memo was released in parts on several NFL media Twitter accounts.
Some of the key points:
- Fully vaccinated individuals will only be tested once every 14 days, whereas unvaccinated personnel are tested daily.
- Vaccinated personnel do not need to wear masks or quarantine after high-risk exposure to COVID-19, but unvaccinated folks must do both.
- Coaches and staff who aren’t fully vaccinated and don’t have a religious or medical exemption won’t be eligible for Tier 1 or Tier 2 status. That means no direct contact with players.
- Vaccinated individuals can interact with family and friends during team travel. Unvaccinated players are forbidden from direct outside interaction with anyone while traveling with the team.
