5 Houston Texans prop bets to make on Thanksgiving
Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday at 11:40 a.m. ET.
QB Deshaun Watson’s longest completion OVER 39.5 yards (-115)
Since head coach Bill O’Brien was fired, Watson has been phenomenal. You can make a strong case he has been the league’s best quarterback since Week 5. A fun way to bet on him in this game is to wager that his longest completion will be beyond 39.5 yards.
That’s not hard to envision as the Texans are loaded with speed at receiver. Look for him to take multiple shots down the field and wind up with several completions over 40 yards.
WR Brandin Cooks OVER 68.5 receiving yards (-112)
After a rough start to the season, Cooks is heating up in Houston. He’s averaging 82.7 yards per game in the team’s last six contests and is coming off a four-catch, 85-yard game against the New England Patriots. Look for Cooks to have another big game and go over 68.5 yards against one of the NFL’s worst pass defenses.

Texans OVER 13.5 first-half points (-110)
Outside of playing in a wind storm in Week 10 in Cleveland, Houston’s offense has played much better over the last two months. Watson’s play has risen and so has the rest of the offense. The Texans should have no problem scoring multiple touchdowns in the first half, going Over 13.5 points with relative ease.
Texans first team to 20 points (-118)
Given how much Detroit’s defense has struggled this season, it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see Houston score 20 points in the first half. A few deep balls to WR Will Fuller or Cooks should be enough for Houston to score 3 or more touchdowns in this game.
Texans defense to score a touchdown (+550)
Thursday games tend to be wild and unpredictable and that is especially true when the Lions are involved. QB Matthew Stafford has seven interceptions this year and has been prone to big turnovers on Thanksgiving before.
At +550, the Texans to score a defensive touchdown at any time is a fun bet to enjoy and watch as you eat your turkey Thursday afternoon.
