The Rams reached the top spot in Touchdown Wire’s power rankings twice this year, but each time, they fell from that perch a week or two later. After claiming the No. 1 ranking heading into Week 9, the Rams proceeded to lose two straight games and dropped to 7-3 on the year.
On Monday night, the Rams lost 31-10 to the 49ers, and as a result, they slipped from No. 3 to 6 in Nick Wojton’s power rankings for Touchdown Wire.
The Rams were never in it against the Niners on Monday Night Football, a 31-10 loss. On the plus side, Los Angeles heads into their bye week now and with plenty of things to fix on a two-game losing skid. But new pieces they’ve recently added will firmly be in the fold the next time we see them, which makes their bye’s timing perfect.
The Titans are undoubtedly a good team, but the 49ers have not played quality football all year. That’s why Monday’s loss is so disappointing for the Rams, given the possibility of tying the Cardinals atop the NFC West and continuing their push for the top seed in the conference.
The Rams will now enter their bye week at the perfect time, resting up before they take on the Packers in Week 12. They’ll need to get back on track because the second half of their schedule is littered with quality teams who will also be contending for a playoff spot.
