NFL power rankings: Broncos rise one spot after Week 8

Following their win over the lowly Panthers, the Broncos jumped one spot in NFL power rankings this week.

Following their 28-14 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, the Denver Broncos are now ranked No. 19 in Nate Davis’ latest NFL power rankings for USA TODAY Sports. That’s up one spot from the team’s No. 20 rank last week.

Here is Davis’ commentary on the Broncos after Week 8:

Encouraging as their 5-3 start has been, trips to Baltimore and Kansas City the next two weeks will shed more truthful light on this squad.

Elsewhere in the AFC West, the Kansas City Chiefs are ranked No. 1, the Los Angeles Chargers are ranked No. 18 and the Las Vegas Raiders are ranked No. 31.

The Baltimore Ravens, who will host the Broncos on Sunday, are ranked No. 3. That will be a difficult game for Denver with massive playoff implications in the AFC. After that, the Broncos will travel to KC.

The Tennessee Titans are ranked No. 32 (last). To view the complete NFL power rankings, visit USATODAY.com.
