We know the players. We know the opponents. We simply don’t know the order they’ll come for the Miami Dolphins. But that’s about to change. Presuming the NFL is able to put on their regularly scheduled 2020 season, by this time next week we will know exactly who the Miami Dolphins will be facing and when it is set to happen.
NFL league spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed that the league will release a full 17-week schedule by the end of this week — and that the league is hopeful for an uninterrupted schedule.
Here’s what we know as this pertains to the Dolphins. The team will play the following teams in 2020.
Home
- New England Patriots
- New York Jets
- Buffalo Bills
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Kansas City Chiefs
- Los Angeles Chargers
- Los Angeles Rams
- Seattle Seahawks
Away
- New England Patriots
- New York Jets
- Buffalo Bills
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Denver Broncos
- Las Vegas Raiders
- Arizona Cardinals
- San Francisco 49ers
We also know the Dolphins will be scheduled to surrender a home game in 2020 in order to play overseas in London. It remains to be seen whether or not the international series will continue as initially planned on account of the COVID-19 pandemic. If you’re looking for silver linings in an imposing 2020 schedule, we’d point to one road contest that includes marginal travel to Jacksonville and home tilts against the Super Bowl champion Chiefs and against three far-west coast teams in 2020. Ideally the Dolphins don’t lose their home game in 2020 to international play against one of those three teams to help preserve the travel advantage.
For now, we wait. But the league intends to deliver their schedule by the end of the week — just another item to look forward due during these unique and trying times.
