The Miami Dolphins defeated the Carolina Panthers 33-10 on Sunday due to great performances from young players like Jaelan Phillips.

Phillips finished the day with four quarterback hits, three sacks, and a batted pass. The former Miami Hurricane now has 6.5 sacks on the season, good for second among rookies behind only Micah Parsons.

His play earlier in the season was solid for a rookie, but he wasn’t getting the stats that fans cared about. Now, that he’s recording sacks, people will have to start respecting his game.

On Monday, the national media coverage of Phillips began with NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger breaking down some of the film from the Week 12 matchup.

This edition of “Baldy’s Breakdowns” focuses on Phillips’ repertoire of pass rush moves that he used Sunday to get to Cam Newton and P.J. Walker. If Baldinger is noticing the intricacies of a player’s game that make them successful, they’re doing something right.
