Due to the restrictions brought about by COVID-19, the NFL wasn’t allowing teams to hold workouts for free agents. This meant the Indianapolis Colts could only meet with a player with the intention of signing them.
We recently saw how this worked as the Colts brought in defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth and safety Tavon Wilson. Both players signed one-year deals once their physicals and COVID test were passed.
However, the NFL notified teams Tuesday that there is no longer a prohibition on free agent workouts, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
The NFL just informed clubs the prohibition on tryouts has been lifted immediately, per source.

This will give the Colts a chance to work players out now without having to simply rely on the tape available. It will be interesting to see if this changes anything for the Colts, but they can now get a closer look at free agents.
