NFL investigating referees asking for Mike Evan’s autograph

Oops! NFL investigating referees asking for Mike Evan’s autograph

We get it. We’re pretty big fans of Mike Evans ourselves. Heck he was a huge part of one of the best runs of A&M football this century, and now he has a Super Bowl ring and is well on his way to a hall of fame career as a wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Apparently, a couple of the officials who worked the Bucs game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday are fans as well, and when they saw Mike in the tunnel after the game, they asked him for an autograph. Of course, being the good Aggie he is, Mike didn’t hesitate for a second and granted the officials their requests.

Unfortunately, there are NFL rules preventing this sort of thing, primarily to prevent even the perception of favor from officials towards specific players, and those officials are now under investigation from the league.

Tom Pelissero, of NFL Network tweeted out the details.
