NFL hands out strict guidelines for draft broadcast to prospects

The NFL wants to control what prospects wear, eat and drink during the NFL draft broadcast.

The NFL is venturing into a brave new world with coverage of the 2020 NFL draft. A huge part of this pertains to how prospects must handle themselves during the television broadcast in terms of NFL licensing.

USA TODAY spoke to former Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor and he outlined much of the details of the memo. He indicated what everyone wears, eats and drinks much be items licensed by the NFLPA. In the past, players on camera in their homes weren’t held to such strict guidelines but since this is the only prospect coverage the draft has, they are asking all players and everyone they have at their draft party to adhere to the memo.

It’s highly unlikely the NFL will be able to strictly enforce this in real-time but we hope prospects don’t intentionally try to defy the memo for the sake of marketing.
