NFL fans roasted Russell Wilson for ignoring a WIDE open receiver in the middle of the field

Wilson cannot keep missing EASY throws like this.

It’s been a bumpy start to Russell Wilson’s tenure with the Broncos. With Denver hovering around .500, their season is far from over. But if Wilson keeps playing poorly enough to earn the apparent ire of his teammates, it won’t be long before the Broncos are out of the playoff picture.

As Denver took on the rival Chargers (-4) on Monday night, Wilson still seemed to be somewhat locked into his current slump. On their first possession, Wilson drove the Broncos into field goal range. But when he had an opportunity to extend the drive on a third and short by throwing it to a very open Greg Dulcich, Wilson completely ignored him:

The result of the play was, unsurprisingly, a Khalil Mack sack that forced the Broncos to settle for a field goal and an early 3-0 lead.

Wilson would later find Dulcich for a 39-yard touchdown, but the damage of the early possession was done. There should have been so much more from a veteran quarterback that is seemingly missing plenty of open receivers in big spots this year.
