Tom Brady took the field at Gillette Stadium Saturday night for what could potentially be his final home game with the Patriots and had a chance to end the game with a miraculous drive in the final seconds of he fourth quarter, but his season ended instead with a game-sealing pick-six.
The Patriots’ defense was unable to stop Tennessee running back Derrick Henry all night, and with the Titans holding on to a one-point lead throughout the fourth quarter, Tennessee was able to successfully run down the clock and leave Brady with just 15 seconds at his own 1-yard line. Facing an impossible task, Brady threw a short pass over the middle that was deflected and fell to Logan Ryan. Ryan dropped a potential pick-six at the end of the first half, but he was able to walk into the endzone to seal the game and potentially end an era in New England.

Tom Brady’s contract with the Patriots will void this offseason, making him a free agent. At the age of 42, it’s unclear whether Brady will return for a 21st career season later this year. CBS commentators Jim Nantz and Tony Romo spent much of the fourth quarter discussing Brady’s future, with Romo predicting that Brady will be back with the Patriots to start the 2020 season. NFL fans and analysts had plenty of jokes about the Patriots’ potential demise, along with tributes to Brady.
“They wanted hyenas, they got hyenas!” …Titans players and coach Mike Vrabel yelling as they enter the locker room, referencing Tom Brady’s pregame hype video. “We want more,” Derrick Henry yelling as the last one in.

If I were a Pats fan, I would be infuriated by the relentless speculation that Tom Brady’s last play as a Patriot was a pick-6. But I’m not and it was great!

For the first time since the 2002 season, the AFC Super Bowl representative will not feature Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, or Joe Flacco

As a longtime fan of Tom Brady, I want to see him playing for the Los Angeles Chargers next season … and I want to see Belichick have to go it alone without him in New England.

In the end – the #Patriots had the worst offensive weapons of any team in the playoffs. Tom Brady isn’t what he was, but he wasn’t their problem either.
