The Chicago Bears shocked the NFL world by trading up to No. 11 in the 2021 NFL Draft on Thursday to draft quarterback Justin Fields. While Bears nation celebrates this incredible turn of events for the franchise, another story came to light. That of recently signed quarterback Andy Dalton.
The Bears signed Dalton to a one-year, $10 million contract on March 17, a move much maligned by football fans from the moment pen hit paper. Chicago caught even more scorn and mockery from football fans after tweeting “QB1” alongside a picture of Dalton days later.
To say that tweet aged well with the news of the Bears recent draft pick in Fields would be… an incorrect take. And much like previous news about Dalton, this too got clowned on immediately by NFL fans.

Yeah that’s just about as unfortunate as it gets. But hey, at least Bears fans have their QB1 of the future!
