New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick attended Mac Jones’ pro day at Alabama on Tuesday. It didn’t go great for Jones, a quarterback expected to go in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft. He missed a number of throws during his scripted throwing workout.
Belichick could be in the market for a quarterback, even after New England re-signed quarterback Cam Newton to a one-year contract this offseason. With Belichick having strong connections to Alabama coach Nick Saban, there is plenty of speculation that the Patriots will draft Jones at 15th overall as competition for Newton. But Jones’ pro day wasn’t what many expected — he struggled.
That’s what led many NFL fans to crack jokes about Jones’ shortcomings.

Here’s what fans had to say about Belichick’s appearance and Jones’ poor performance.

If nothing else, you can always count on NFL fans to overreact.
