A rough season for the New York Jets is mercifully ending on Sunday.
With Aaron Rodgers back from the torn Achilles that cost him practically the entire 2023 season, expectations were high for a squad that was supposed to compete for a playoff spot.
Instead, the Jets enter Week 18 with a 4-12 record and only have spite to play for as they face an 8-8 Miami Dolphins team with an outside shot at the playoffs. And before the game, the flag crew on the field inadvertently provided us with quite an apt metaphor for a season gone awry.
When the crew carried out the “Jets” flag, they brought it upside down. When they realized their mistake, they quickly retreated back into the tunnel.

Early season jitters. They’ll figure it out before the games matter.
