NFL Draft: How the Dolphins trading No. 3 overall pick to the 49ers impacts the Eagles

The NFL Draft is a month away and things just got interesting as the Miami Dolphins traded the No. 3 overall pick to the 49ers for the No. 12 pick

It’s NFL draft season and as Zach Wilson prepares for his pro day on the campus of BYU in Provo, Utah, a gigantic trade has just been announced.

Adam Schefter is reporting that the Miami Dolphins are trading the No. 3 overall pick to the San Francisco 49ers for the No. 12 overall pick in the draft along with a 2021 third-round pick (SF’s comp pick for Robert Saleh hiring) and first-round picks in 2022 and 2023.

How that impacts the Eagles:

If Howie Roseman had a quarterback in mind at No. 6 overall, that dream is likely over after the trade, assuming the Jags go Trevor Lawrence at No. 1 overall, the Jets obviously go Zach Wilson at No. 2 unless they trade down.

At No. 3, the 49ers will likely target Justin Fields, Trey Lance, or possibly Mac Jones, while the Falcons at No. 4 overall, Carolina at No. 8, and Denver at No. 9 could all start positioning themselves to get up to No. 4 overall at worst.
