It’s NFL draft season and as Zach Wilson prepares for his pro day on the campus of BYU in Provo, Utah, a gigantic trade has just been announced.
Adam Schefter is reporting that the Miami Dolphins are trading the No. 3 overall pick to the San Francisco 49ers for the No. 12 overall pick in the draft along with a 2021 third-round pick (SF’s comp pick for Robert Saleh hiring) and first-round picks in 2022 and 2023.
How that impacts the Eagles:
If Howie Roseman had a quarterback in mind at No. 6 overall, that dream is likely over after the trade, assuming the Jags go Trevor Lawrence at No. 1 overall, the Jets obviously go Zach Wilson at No. 2 unless they trade down.
At No. 3, the 49ers will likely target Justin Fields, Trey Lance, or possibly Mac Jones, while the Falcons at No. 4 overall, Carolina at No. 8, and Denver at No. 9 could all start positioning themselves to get up to No. 4 overall at worst.
