NFL draft expert calls Carson Beck ‘most talented’ UGA passer since Matthew Stafford

Is Carson Beck ‘easily the most talented UGA passer since Matthew Stafford’? Draft scout prefers Beck over former UGA passers Aaron Murray and Stetson Bennett

Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck has high expectations entering his second season as a starter. Beck, who is a first-team All-SEC selection, could become Georgia’s first No. 1 overall pick since Travon Walker went first in the 2022 NFL draft.

This fall, Beck returns to a fantastic situation at Georgia, where he will be surrounded with seven other All-SEC players on offense. NFL draft expert Daniel Jeremiah is very high on both Georgia and Carson Beck ahead of the 2024 season.

“The SEC is stacked, but I came away very impressed with the overall depth and talent of the Georgia roster,” Daniel Jeremiah. “Beck is easily the most talented UGA passer since Matthew Stafford departed after the 2008 season.”

This means that Daniel Jeremiah prefers Beck, as a passer over previous Georgia quarterbacks like Aaron Murray, Jake Fromm and Stetson Bennett. Carson Beck certainly had an efficient year in 2023 and is bringing a lot of confidence into the fall. Beck feels like there is no limit on his potential.

“I feel like, that’s kind of how I try to approach my game, and even myself as a person, is that if I set the sky as the limit, right. I mean it’s kind of self-explanatory there isn’t a limit, you know, it’s going to be never ending progression,” said Beck at SEC media days.
Beck compiled 28 total touchdowns and threw just six interceptions in his first year as a starter and should continue to build off that experience. Beck has a strong arm and is a quick decision maker. Beck’s game is not perfect. He would impress draft scouts if he is able to be more effective in off-schedule situations this fall.
