NFL Draft 2022 props: Which wide receiver will be selected first?

There’s some great value on the wide receivers.

With the NFL Draft fast approaching, there are several ways you can have a stake in what goes down in the first round. One way is by betting on which players will be the first drafted among their position groups, and no group provides more value than wide receiver.

Whether you think it’s going to be Ohio State’s Garrett Wilson (+105), Alabama’s Jameson Williams (+200) or USC’s Drake London (+220), you’re getting plus odds on all of them at Tipico Sportsbook. Those three aside, every other receiver is getting +2000 odds.

The Pick: So which receiver is the best bet to be drafted first? I think it’s the guy with the shortest odds, Wilson.

1st drafted Wide Receiver
  • Garrett Wilson, Ohio St. +105
  • Jameson Williams, Alabama +200
  • Drake London, USC +220
  • Chris Olave, Ohio St. +2000
  • Treylon Burks, Arkansas +2000
  • Christian Watson, North Dakota St. +6000
  • Jahan Dotson, Penn St. +7000

A look through several big boards shows Wilson is most consistently the top-ranked receiver, and he’s also the top wideout taken in many recent mock drafts. There is some variation, as he can be as low as third — like he is on this For The Win big board — but Wilson’s big play ability won’t be easy to pass on.

At 6-feet tall, he doesn’t have the size of the 6-4 London, and he didn’t have the production of the speedy Williams last season. But with a 4.38-second 40-yard dash at the combine, Wilson may be the safest speed threat considering Williams is rehabbing a torn ACL suffered in the national title game. With speed as a premium skill in today’s NFL, that could be an important factor for teams picking at the top of the draft looking for an immediate infusion of talent.
