After opting out of the bowl season and passing on participating in the Senior Bowl, scouts were filed into the performance of Penn State wide receiver Jahan Dotson at the NFL Combine on Thursday. After measuring in and silencing some concerns about his height and performing well in a couple of events, the time to shine came Thursday evening with the signature event of the combine; the 40-yard dash.
Dotson ran the 40 in a time of 4.41 on his first of two attempts.
Dotson’s second run was also impressive, with an unofficial time of 4.47.
Dotson will have a chance to improve his time at Penn State’s pro day later this month, should he choose to do so.
Dotson is considered among the top wide receiver prospects in the 2022 draft pool, and a good showing in the combine could help cement his draft outlook as a potential first-round draft pick. A number of mock drafts leading up to the combine included Dotson as a late first-round pick.
