NFL analyst trashes Steelers HC Mike Tomlin for WR behavior

Shannon Sharpe threw Mike Tomlin under the bus for how his wide receivers act.

\When he played, few players talks the way Shannon Sharpe did. One of the greatest tight ends to ever play, Sharpe now uses those vocal skills as a sports media talking head who loves to stir the pot.

Sharpe’s latest inflammatory tweet comes at the expense of the Pittsburgh Steelers and specifically head coach Mike Tomlin. Sharpe insists the behavior of the Steelers wide receivers over the last decade have not only been condoned by Tomlin and the Steelers but coached as well.

This was in response to the latest on-field issue for the Steelers at wide receiver when Ray-Ray McCloud got hit with a taunting penalty after signaling a first-down against the Chiefs. This follows up the Chase Claypool debacle from two weeks ago and goes all the way back through guys like JuJu Smith-Schuster and Antonio Brown.

But the fact is Sharpe is wrong. Ok, maybe half wrong. I don’t for one second Tomlin coaches his receivers to taunt and get those stupid penalties. And neither does Sharpe. But does Tomlin condone it? I mean, sort of. How long did he tolerate Brown’s antics with no repercussions? Same with Smith-Schuster. Why shouldn’t guys like Claypool and McCloud think it’s ok to act a fool?

But I want to ask all of you. Should Tomlin be doing more to deal with these sorts of things or is this just an old man take? Let us know in the comments.
