"There are people in the Steelers organization praying Big Ben retires. That would give them a few more options on how they're going to manage their salary cap. The 2-year, $68M contract extension they gave him last offseason looks like an awful deal right now." — @ChrisCanty99 pic.twitter.com/BmgpGkTTb7

Take this one with a grain of salt because it’s a doozy.
Fox Sports NFL analyst Chris Canty, the same guy who said all the problems with Antonio Brown were Ben Roethlisberger’s fault is now claiming there are people within the Pittsburgh Steelers organization who are praying Roethlisberger retires. Praying for it.
It’s a ridiculous notion anyone with any decision-making power would not want Big Ben back. The defense is elite and there is a ton of young talent at the skill positions. A healthy Roethlisberger is exactly what this team needs to compete for a Super Bowl in 2020.
Is Roethlisberger’s salary exorbitant? Absolutely. Do we all hope he at a minimum does a re-structure but secretly hopes he completely re-works his contract to save significant cap space? Of course. But if neither happens, this team is still better overpaying Roethlisberger to be on the team than not.
