NFL analyst: ‘Ben Roethlisberger needs to be worried about Lamar Jackson, not the other way around’

Who will be King of the North in the AFC?

When debating on Wednesday’s Good Morning Football “King in the AFC North,” Fox Sports senior writer and GMFB co-host Peter Schrager spilled his feelings on the topic.

“It’s not Lamar’s fault Ben missed the season with an injury. Like, ‘I’ve got to wait for you?’ .. While Ben Roethlisberger was out, [Lamar] went and beat Tom Brady on a Sunday night for the entire country to see. He went into Seattle and beat Russell Wilson, dominated him… If anything, Ben Roethlisberger needs to be worried about Lamar Jackson, not the other way around. We’re hyping the Steelers up just because Ben is back that suddenly they’re a 10-win, 12-win team… I can’t tell you that I know that Ben Roethlisberger immediately being inserted into the lineup puts them on the same par as the Ravens who were 14-2 and led the NFL in offense, one of the greatest offenses the league has ever seen last year. I don’t think anyone in Lamar Jackson or anyone in Baltimore is losing sleep over what Pittsburgh’s doing. ‘They’ve got to come get us, not the other way around.'”

As if the Steelers-Ravens matchups aren’t already must-sees for any NFL fan, Roethlisberger has yet to go up against the Ravens since Jackson made the second-year leap from average to excellent last season.

The Steelers lost both contests versus the Ravens without Big Ben in 2019 and split the series in 2018.

If you haven’t already, be sure to circle Oct. 25 and Thanksgiving on your calendar. Part of Ben’s “Revenge Tour 2020” will be showing Lamar who the King of the North really is.
