There was one team that seemed to make Aaron Rodgers look human in 2020. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense forced Rodgers into two interceptions in their Week 6 matchup. It was his only multiple-interception game this year and the only game where he didn’t throw for a touchdown. The Green Bay Packers’ loss to Tampa was Rodgers worst performance of an otherwise MVP-worthy season.
Lucky for Rodgers, he gets another shot at Tampa in the NFC Championship. Even against the top-ranked defenses this season, Rodgers has looked unstoppable. In the postseason against the Los Angeles Rams, a team that boasts the fourth-best defensive DVOA in the NFL, Rodgers had 296 passing yards and two touchdowns. Against the New Orleans Saints, ranked second in defensive DVOA, Rodgers had 283 passing yards and three touchdowns.
The Tampa defense gave Rodgers problems in their first matchup, but it’s easy to imagine him making the proper adjustments for a big game with over 300 passing yards and three touchdowns. That’s my bold prediction for the championship round of the playoffs.
