The Utah Jazz (10-5) welcome the New York Knicks (6-7) to Vivint Smart Home Arena Tuesday. Tip is set for 9 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Knicks vs. Jazz odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.
The Jazz are coming into this game following a 105-98 loss Sunday to the Philadelphia 76ers. Utah was 3.5-point road underdogs and return home for a 2-game homestand.
The Jazz are led by F Lauri Markennan, who was brought in as part of the trade for G Donovan Mitchell. Markennan is averaging 21.8 points per game, 1 of 6 Jazz players consistently notching double figures.
The Knicks have not been playing up to par lately and are just 2-7-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10. They recently lost by 10 points (145-135) to the Oklahoma City Thunder at home as 5.5-point favorites.
New York has been aided offensively by the offseason signing of G Jalen Brunson, averaging 19.5 points per game. F Julius Randle leads the team at 20.8 PPG.

Moneyline
PASS.
Utah has shown enough to be the rightful favorite, but I wouldn’t play it at this value.
Against the spread
BET JAZZ -4.5 (-105).
Utah, simply put, is the more trustworthy team right now. It is 4-1 ATS as the home team.
The Jazz rank 4th in defensive rating as well, and the Knicks are coming off a battle in which they gave up 145 to the team sitting 20th in that category. New York’s offensive and defensive rating is in the league’s bottom half.
The Knicks’ effective field goal rate is 23rd in the NBA and that drops to 29th when considering only road games, so when they aren’t in MSG, New York isn’t great at shooting.
Put it all together, and back Jazz -4.5 (-105).
Over/Under
LEAN OVER 230.5 (-110).
One of the pivotal strengths for New York is its ability to crash the offensive glass.
It ranks 7th in the NBA in offensive rebounding rate which is far better than Utah’s defensive rebounding rate which sits 27th. That should produce extra opportunities for the Knicks and inevitably lead to more scoring.
New York also ranks 10th in pace, and its defense shortcomings were noticeable against the Thunder recently. Without Robinson in the paint, Markennan should get far easier looks.
New York is 7-5-1 O/U this season.
