Prediction

Knicks 125, Trail Blazers 119

Moneyline (ML)

The Trail Blazers (-455) are heavy favorites at home. They’re 4-6 at Moda Center this season and 4-6 across their last 10 games, including back-to-back losses entering Tuesday. They dropped the final two of a three-game homestand, including a 108-96 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday.

The KNICKS (+333) are worth a small investment with the possibility of better than a 3x return. New York is 1-9 across its last 10 (including losing each of its last nine), and 1-9 on the road. Six of these last nine losses were by single-digit margins, including a one-point loss against a vastly superior Indiana Pacers squad Saturday. This is a case of chasing the value and exploiting a number leaning too heavily toward the Blazers.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Knicks to win outright will return a profit of $33.30.

Against the Spread (ATS)

The better play worthy of a larger wager is to back the KNICKS (+8.5, -106) to stay within 8 points in a loss or win outright. They’re 11-12 ATS overall and 5-5 on the road while the Blazers are 10-13 ATS overall and just 3-6 at home.

As noted above, the Knicks have been playing in tighter games of late. The Blazers have just five wins this season by margins greater than eight points.

Over/Under (O/U)

Both teams give up more than 110 points per game to the opposition with the Knicks allowing 111.0 PPG and the Trail Blazers giving up 115.4 PPG. Portland is 13-11 against the O/U for the season and tops the projected point totals by an average of 2.8 PPG. Take the OVER 222.5 (-115).
