The Philadelphia 76ers (4-5) welcome the New York Knicks (3-4) to Wells Fargo Center Friday. Tip is set for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Knicks vs. 76ers odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.
The 76ers will need a weather a storm following the news that they will be without former MVP G James Harden for the next few weeks. Philadelphia is coming off a 121-111 loss to the Washington Wizards Wednesday as a 5.5-point underdog, but it has won 3 of its last 4 games.
The 76ers are led in scoring by star C Joel Embiid, who is averaging 27.2 points per game and shooting 53.2% from the field. G Tyrese Maxey will be asked to continue to step up as well. He is averaging 24.2 points per game.
New York also comes into this game with a losing record following a 112-99 home loss to the Atlanta Hawks. The Knicks have now lost 4 in a row after a hot start to the season, all of which came by double figures.
New York is led by G Jalen Brunson, who it acquired this offseason. He is averaging 18.4 per game but also weakens the team defensively. The Knicks have allowed 115.1 points per game this season.

Knicks at 76ers picks and predictions
Prediction
76ers 114, Knicks 108
Moneyline
PASS.
The 76ers (-140) isn’t a great value play, and the Knicks (+115) have been too bad as of late to back even at this plus-money value.
Against the spread
BET 76ERS -2.5 (-110).
The 76ers are in a good buy-low spot due to Harden’s injury. They have the 4th-best offensive rating in the NBA, and adding G De’Anthony Melton to the starting lineup should bode well for them defensively as well.
The Knicks thrive on second-chance opportunities, but the 76ers rank in the top half of the league in defensive rebounding rate and sit first in effective field goal rate, a stat the Knicks are 25th in.
Philadelphia has more dominant size with Embiid and should have the defensive-minded players to stick with Brunson.
Both teams’ records match their ATS records, so neither has covered at a consistent pace this season, but with the Knicks on a cold streak, I’d back Philly here.
Over/Under
LEAN OVER 219.5 (-112).
The Knicks are 5-2 O/U, and the 76ers are 5-4 O/U. With Harden out, Maxey should get more run and the 76ers tempo may speed up with his pace, especially considering Harden’s iso-style play.
New York also has the 7th-highest turnover ratee, so there should be transition opportunities for Philly here.
Back the OVER 219.5 (-112).
