Knicks at Timberwolves picks and predictions
Prediction
Timberwolves 121, Knicks 113
Moneyline
PASS.
With the T-wolves at -190, I wouldn’t play anything on the moneyline. Minnesota should dominate New York, and I’d back the points here with the home side.
Against the spread
LEAN TIMBERWOLVES -4.5 (-112).
The Timberwolves and Knicks are both down their starting center. That should benefit Towns more than Randle, and the Wolves have the length and scoring to be able to take Brunson and company out of the game.
This game will be a test of strengths, and the T-wolves’ defense against a Knicks team on the 2nd night of a back-to-back should prevail.
New York is 0-1 ATS with a rest disadvantage and 2-3 ATS as an underdog this season. Minnesota is 3-2 ATS following a loss as well. It’s a lean, but I’d back the T-wolves.
Over/Under
LEAN OVER 230.5 (-108).
The Knicks are significantly better offensively this season with the addition of Brunson. They shot over 50% against the Celtics, yet they allowed Boston to hit 53% of its attempts.
The T-wolves turn the ball over and don’t rebound at a high rate, but they do shoot the 14th-best percentage in the NBA, and that’s been the main weakness for the Knicks defense.
Both teams also rank in the top half of the league in pace with the Knicks 15th and the T-wolves 4th. New York gave up 133 in 4 quarters to Boston, and the T-wolves play at a far faster pace.
Expect points to come in bunch, and the OVER 230.5 (-108) to be the best play.
