Former North Carolina Tar Heels forward Cam Johnson is a name that is already generating a lot of buzz ahead of the NBA free agency period this summer.
The Brooklyn Nets forward is set to be a restricted free agent this offseason and should receive a lot of interest not only from his current team but potentially others. The Nets have made it clear they would like to retain Johnson and the latest report suggests they are ready to match offers he gets, even up to $100M.
On his podcast, ESPN reporter Brian Windhorst said that the Nets are prepared to match offer sheets up to 4 years and $100M. Windhorst believes that Johnson will probably get around $90M and if other teams comes ‘hunting’ for the forward, he could get that $100M deal.

Johnson was selected as a lottery pick out of North Carolina by the Phoenix Suns and played a few seasons there. He was then traded to Brooklyn as part of the Kevin Durant deal, helping the Nets get back to the playoffs this season.
He did turn down a contract extension offer earlier this season and now a big payday is likely looming for him.
