New NBA partnership with ColourPop features team-branded makeup, including the Boston Celtics

The league is counting on a fanbase that isn’t stereotypically hyper-masculine.

Fans of the Boston Celtics who prefer an eyeshadow that shows their rooting interests are in luck, as Women’s Wear Daily’s Layla Ilchi reports that six NBA teams are represented in a new partnership between the league and makeup manufacturer ColourPop, the Celtics among them.

They, the Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, and Los Angeles Lakers each have their own collections that include eyeshadow palettes, gel liners, glitter face gel, face stickers, and clear makeup bags. The popular makeup brand has made a name for itself with pop culture crossover kits ranging from Disney media to online gaming and the Star Wars franchise.

While sports is often envisaged as a hyper-masculine domain, society has long since disproven stereotypes that there are plenty of basketball fans who are interested in lifestyle gear that isn’t aimed at stereotypical depictions of what an NBA fan should look like.
