The New Mexico Lobos (7-10, 0-4 MWC) and No. 23 Colorado State Rams (13-1, 3-1) meet Wednesday night in Fort Collins, Colo. Tip-off at Moby Arena is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the New Mexico vs. Colorado State odds and lines and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

New Mexico heads into this game on a run of four straight losses. UNM does well to take care of the ball at a fast-pace tempo, but the Lobos have struggled mightily on the boards and in sending opponents to the free-throw line. New Mexico is 1-6 since Dec. 12. Over that stretch, the Lobos have been a minus-6.5 on the boards, and foes have attempted 26.0 free throws per game. UNM is 1-5 away from Albuquerque.

The Rams have won two straight games after being blitzed by 30 points on Jan. 8. Colorado State was bested by San Diego State, 79-49, in that game. The Mountain West’s top 3-point shooting team (39.2%) went just 3-for-20 from distance against the Aztecs. CSU is undefeated (8-0) at home.

New Mexico at Colorado State odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Colorado State 82, New Mexico 68

Money line

AVOID. A lot of juice to drown in here.

Against the spread

The Rams are 0-4 ATS in their last four games against teams with a losing straight-up record.

New Mexico has been wildly inconsistent, and it hasn’t showed the type of shooting touch — inside or outside the arc — needed to stay within 10-to-12 points in a tough road game. But 16.5 is a different story.

Peg this contest as being ripe for some gravity in the numbers on both sides. And one played with fewer possessions than what season averages show.

TAKE NEW MEXICO +16.5 (-115).

Over/Under

Look to shade the Under here, but only if the total climbs a point or two. Otherwise, a PASS is suggested.
