A rather nasty bug is plaguing Dying Light 2 Stay Human players, one that not even the undead hordes can contend with.
The “death-loop” glitch, not to be confused with Deathloop, makes playing Dying Light 2 Stay Human more stressful than intended, and Techland explained Tuesday what it is and how the team will fix things.
“A death-loop bug is when a player dies during a quest within a restricted area and [respawns] into another part of the map,” Techland said on Twitter. “The time limit does not allow the player to get back to the previous mission area on time.”
Techland claims that the death-loop bug most often occurs when players quit during the final cutscene of the broadcast quest. It’s not limited to single-player either, as co-op sessions are also struggling with the bug.
We are aware that death-loop bug is not the only issue with the game. We’re working hard on fixes for other bugs, including co-op.

The last several patches for Dying Light 2 Stay Human on PC have somewhat fixed the death-loop bug, though instances of corrupted save files persist. PlayStation and Xbox versions of the game will get these fixes on soon-to-be-released patches.
“The next steps include providing a fix for those with a broken saved game,” Techland continues. “An introduction of a backup save functionality that will allow players to rollback the campaign to the most crucial moments of the story.”
There’s no permanent fix for the death-loop bug yet, but Techland asks players to bear with them until a solution is found.
