New date set for canceled Penn State-Minnesota basketball game

Penn State’s recently postponed home game against Minnesota has officially been rescheduled by the Big Ten.

A recently postponed game on the Penn State men’s basketball schedule has now officially been rescheduled by the Big Ten. Penn State’s home game against Minnesota that was originally scheduled for January 19 will now be played on Thursday, February 17. Tipoff is scheduled for  4 p.m. ET for a fun little Thursday afternoon game to look forward to.

The game was previously postponed due to COVID-related concerns within the Minnesota basketball program. As expected, anyone with a ticket to the original date will be able to attend the game using their original ticket.

The rescheduled Minnesota game will now be played two days after a home game against Michigan State and four days ahead of a road game at Maryland. The game will also now be the second of the two scheduled meetings between the two programs, with Minnesota scheduled to host Penn State on February 12.

Penn State’s men’s basketball team is currently just looking to get on the right track inside Big Ten play. The Nittany Lions are coming off two brutal road losses at Iowa and Indiana in the past week. Penn State begins this week looking to snap a three-game losing streak in Big Ten play. Doing so should be challenging with Penn State set to host Iowa in a revenge game situation in the Bruce Jordan Center on Monday evening and a road trip to Wisconsin next Saturday, with a home game against Michigan coming up early next week.
