New Balance releases video celebrating NIL deal with Duke basketball freshman Cooper Flagg

Top-ranked Duke basketball freshman Cooper Flagg starred in a New Balance ad shortly after his new NIL deal was announced on Monday.

[autotag]Cooper Flagg[/autotag], one of the most anticipated college basketball freshmen of all time (and now a Duke Blue Devil), starred in a New Balance advertising campaign shortly after announcing his new NIL deal.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski first reported the agreement on Monday, and one of the details in his story about the partnership centered around how Flagg grew up in Maine just 25 miles from a New Balance factory.

New Balance then released a 45-second video of Flagg back in his hometown of Newport, practicing on a hoop in his driveway just after six in the morning. A young newspaper boy then comes up on a bike, tossing a paper into Flagg’s driveway.

“Cooper Flagg. The intelligent choice,” the paper read, which was also the caption of the video on social media.

Flagg, who capped off his last year at Montverde Academy with an undefeated season and a title at Chipotle Nationals, played alongside the NBA’s biggest stars for the U.S. Men’s Select Team this summer and earned rave reviews. Some scouts thought he looked like the best player on a team of NBA starters.

The Cameron Crazies get their first look at Flagg at the Countdown to Craziness on October 4.
