LSU has had a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail for the 2025 class, which ranks first nationally per On3 and second per 247Sports, recently. But on Friday, it suffered its first decommitment of the cycle.
Three-star Grayson (Loganville, Ga.) cornerback [autotag]Jaylen Bell[/autotag] backed off his pledge to the Tigers in an announcement on Twitter/X. Bell was one of the earliest commits in the 2025 class, committing to LSU in November 2022.
“After careful consideration, prayer, and a talk with my family. I am reopening my recruitment process,” Bell wrote in the post. “Respect my decision. I am 100% open. This is God’s plan.”

Bell ranks as the No. 383 prospect nationally, per the 247Sports Composite, and he’s the No. 40 cornerback in the 2025 class. His decommitment leaves LSU’s nine-man class with one cornerback commitment from in-state blue-chipper [autotag]Jaboree Antoine[/autotag], who committed to the Tigers on Jan. 27.
