Even though Kevin Durant was coming off a three-game absence due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols, Brooklyn’s Sunday loss is unacceptable — and it only makes it worse that Durant scored a season-high 36 points against the Thunder.

Doesn’t matter Kyrie Irving is still unavailable. Brooklyn took care of the Utah Jazz without Durant and then the 76ers, despite being down both superstars against a then 7-1 Philadelphia squad. Yet they couldn’t slow down a less than stellar Oklahoma City team — despite jumping out to a significant double-digit lead.

Oklahoma City gave the Nets quite a bit to think about moving forward.
