For the first time since he and the franchise mutually parted ways in March of 2020, Kenny Atkinson will be coaching in a Nets game at Barclays Center. Only, he’ll be coaching against Brooklyn, now serving an assistant under Los Angeles Clippers head coach Ty Lue. And the Nets team Atkinson is about to face looks quite different from the one he left behind — and even more different than his 2018-19 squad, with Joe Harris and the injured Spencer Dinwiddie (ACL surgery) being the only leftovers.
In addition to Dinwiddie, Nic Claxton (right knee tendinopathy) and Iman Shumpert (not with team) remain unavailable. Nic Batum (groin) is questionable for the Clippers and Patrick Beverley (knee) remains sidelined.
