Advice and prediction
The Nets looked every bit like the NBA Finals contender people have been hyping them up to be in Game 1, and both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant looked sharp as both played just 25 stress-free minutes. The Nets’ depth should give the Celtics trouble, Brooklyn has had an extra recovery day, and I expect them to continue to roll in a high scoring game. Take the Nets -3.5 (-105), and consider Nets -1.5 (-105) first half as well.
As for the total, I’m a bit surprised it’s not higher. The Celtics took 101 shots against the Bucks, and both the Nets and Celtics launched 35 or more threes in their first game. If we see a game with a similar pace on Friday, they’re hitting over 227.5.
