Ever since the Nets moved to Barclays Center, the organization has placed an emphasis on establishing themselves as Brooklyn’s lone professional sports franchise. In doing so, the Nets haven’t done much to pay homage to their old home in New Jersey, and the fans who’ve remained loyal since those days.
But that all changed on Wednesday after the Nets teased on Twitter earlier in the week that they were going doing something to bring New Jersey back into the fold in some manner.
The Nets have announced their 2020-21 Classic Edition throwback uniforms will be the New Jersey uniforms from the 1990-91 team:
The Nets are bringing back a fan-favorite uniform that features a tie-dye pattern. The colorful uniform proudly rocks NETS across the chest and harkens back to the 1990-91 Nets season.
30 years ago the New Jersey Nets found a new look. This year, the Brooklyn Nets are paying homage to a classic.
